Hand-knitted carpet

Knitting is similar to accumulating pixels. In early ego-shooter computer games like Doom and Quake you could see all the pixels the world would consist of. You could also experience an unreal form of architecture, surreal beings and objects and a truly absurd storyline.
Pictures of these games as carpets create a tension between the horror and the cosy. Blood and textiles. Fluffy images of murder.

This extra-ordinary piece took more than a year to complete. Every pixel needed to be matched with the right color and knitted by hand.
